Since 2016
Personal Project

A female collective that empowers people by bringing together those interested in learning and sharing manual knowledge. We started our workshops believing that shared knowledge transforms.

My role: I founded the collective in 2016. Since then, I have co-coordinated it being responsible for organizing and hosting all the events, facilitating learning classes, and thinking about new experiences related to craft to the local community.

What it is:
The collective started from restlessness and willingness to change the creative processes and personal relationships.

- Having a sense of community and meeting new people
- Spontaneous exchange space, nurturing creative processes
- Horizontal exchange, contrary to inaccessible design courses

Process:
Our methodology is straightforward: if a person has an excellent craft knowledge and is willing to share it, and if several other people are interested in learning, we facilitate so that this knowledge exchange experience can happen 🧶

since 2016   →  we have had 45+ events
With the help of young artists, we taught  400+ people
Between the different workshops formats → we taught 25+ craft techniques

👯‍♀️ We already collaborate with Ladies Wine Design, Virada Sustentável, Feira Jardim Secreto, Think Olga (through the exhibition of the movie Chega de Fiu Fiu) and the designers Paula Cruz and Jackson Araújo; besides our collaboration with more than 20 young artists and crafters.

Finalist at the Tomie Ohtake Leroy Merlin Design Award
In 2018 we took part in the award process, having Jackson Araújo as our mentor. We created and prototyped a digital service and platform that would help us to better connect with our local community and have the chance to increase our impact by creating other chapters in the country. Strengthening the network of participants and enabling contact outside of class. The app was an easy way for crafters to connect with our purpose, subscribe to information and register in the following workshops.

We were finalists in the award and took part in the museum's collective exhibition during 2019.
